Medically Unexplained Physical Symptoms

On Weds 2 October 2002 we are privileged to welcome back to the DRC none other than Dr Christopher Bass, Consultant in the Dept of Psychological Medicine at the JRH, Oxford who will share with us some ideas on how to cope with patients who present with "medically unexplained symptoms".

This follows on nicely from the views presented by Dr Willis that extensive management protocols are not the answer, since protocols are good for real diseases, but not a lot of use for real people, especially if they are somatisers.
