See Who's Who page for further details
The Royal United Hospital provides the majority of the Bath area's medical services.
The area has a strong tradition of small community hospitals.
We offer rotating training posts at SHO/ST level in hospital, linked with a post as General Practitioner Registrar.
At all stages during an appointment the trainee will be expected to take part in the postgraduate education programme arranged for SHOs or GP Registrars.
SHOs on the VTS are expected to attend a full-day training session every 2 months, when topics relevant to General Practice are discussed.
Each SHO will have an educational supervisor during each post in the rotation for career advice, as well as liaison throughout the 3 years with the Course Organiser and a GP Trainer.
The posts fulfill the requirements of the Vocational Training Act and provide suitable experience for the MRCGP.
See the Bath GP Vocational Training Scheme page for details of the rotations.
